6 years of ‘Baby’: When Akshay Kumar was “surprised” by the name of the espionage thriller

Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Baby’ celebrates six glorious years this year. The movie received rave reviews from the audience and the critics alike. On the occasion, came across a throwback story of Akshay Kumar where he revealed that he was initially surprised by the name of the movie.

The actor had once revealed that initially, he did not understand the relevance of the espionage thriller’s title. Akshay said during the trailer launch of the movie that he was surprised upon hearing the script but gradually understood the importance of the title ‘Baby.’

The movie was inspired by real-life events and Akshay Kumar played the role of an undercover cop in the same. It starred Madhurima Tuli, Rana Daggubati, Kay Kay Menon, Anupam Kher and others in key roles.

‘Baby’ also had a spin-off titled, ‘Naam Shabana’ featuring Taapsee Pannu in the lead role. The movie also starred Manoj Bajpayee in the key role while Akshay played a special cameo in the movie.
