It took 10 long years. Finally, Arindam Ganguly’s much-awaited film ‘Cholo Potol Tuli’ will have its theatrical release this Puja. The social satire has an ensemble cast including Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Kheyali Ghosh Dastidar, Kharaj Mukherjee, Aparajita Auddy, Paran Bandopadhyay, Rimjhim Mitra and others in key roles. It’s inspired by a stage play of the same name.
The story of ‘Cholo Potol Tuli’ follows Ashwini Chakladar who believes he might suffer from the disease Beri Beri. To take all the precautionary measures he can go to any extent. He looks for anything advised by others to keep himself safe. He gets so paranoid that even if he is advised to eat the peel of the banana, he will even eat that. That’s how the film’s comic elements work. How do people around him react to his craziness? How Ashwini survives all these? That’s what forms the crux of the story.
Produced by Shaonli Majumdar, the music of the film has been composed by Arindam Ganguly himself.
