Noted director Guna Sekhar is coming up with a Pan-Indian movie Shakunthalam starring Samantha in the lead. The movie is based on the mythological story of Shakuntala, daughter of sage Vishwa Mitra. Now, it has been revealed that Dev Mohan who acted in Sufiyum Sujathayum will play the role of King Dushyantha in the movie. Dev Mohan played a Sufi saint in the Aditi Rao Hydari-starrer, Sufiyum Sujathayum. The movie was the first direct OTT release and recently its director Shanavas Naranipuzha had passed away after a cardiac arrest. Samantha had announced the launch of the movie on New Year and the movie will start rolling by end of this year. The film will explore the love story of King Dushyantha and Shakuntalaand her friends Apsara Menaka.
Recently, the makers have shared the prep of Samantha for the role. Popular designer Neeta Lulla was seen supervising the character’s look in the photo. Gunasekar’s team posted a photo, which showed the back of the actress and wrote, Working on getting the look together! In Kollywood, Samantha is acting in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal and she also has an untitled Ashwin Saravanan movie in her kitty.
