As Vijay is basking in the success of his Master directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, he is in no mood to take a break. He has already started working on his next with Nelson Dhilipkumar and the movie’s test shoot has been going on in Chennai. While his movie with Nelson is titled Thalapathy65, he has now moved on to his next, and according to the reports #Thalapathy66 and has consented to do a film for Thenandal Films. It is reported that the movie will be a story-based one and not a big-budget project. However, it is not known who would direct Vijay in the movie. While Lokesh Kanagaraj has said that he would happily join Vijay if he gets a call, three other directors are also in the fray. H Vinoth, who is currently directing Ajith in Valimai, Ajay Gnanamuthu who is busy with his Cobra starring Vikram and Atlee, who recently worked with Vijay in Bigil are being considered to helm the project, it is reported.
Earlier, Vijay had worked with Thenandal Films in Mersal, directed by Atlee. However, it was alleged that since Atlee’s budget for Mersal went over the roof, the film production company suffered losses and had to shelve /put on hold some of their projects like Sangamithra with Sundar C featuring an ensemble cast and three other projects.
Now, with Vijay again teaming up with the production house, it seems the production company will get a new lease of life. By releasing his Master in theatres, Vijay was lauded for his effort to revive the ailing theatre business. Many consider this as a similar move by Thalapathy and it is not uncommon that big heroes join productions houses when their previous films do not bring expected results.
