We had earlier reported that actor Sasikumar is joining hands with director Bhagyaraj for the remake of his 1983 blockbuster drama film Munthanai Mudichu which was directed and acted by Bhagyaraj. Now, the latest is that actress Aishwarya Rajesh, who was last seen ‘Vaanam Kottatum’ in Tamil has been roped in to play the female lead in the film.
Veteran filmmaker Bhagyaraj is again penning the dialogue and screenplay for the remake, but it is unclear whether he is directing the movie again. Aishwarya Rajesh seems to be excited about being part of the film and took to her social networking page to share the news to the fans.
Sharing a picture with director Bhagyaraj and actor Sasikumar, Aishwarya Rajesh posted, “Excited and honoured to be a part of the remake of #MunthanaiMudichu, one of Tamil cinema’s landmark films that’s stood the test of time. Watch out for this one in 2021!” (sic)
Released on July 22, 1983, the film focuses on a girl who forces the village teacher to marry her after falsely accusing him of molesting her. The story goes on to show how she goes to extremes to win his love. The remake of the film is produced by JSB Sathish, producer of Vikram Prabhu’s Asura Guru.
