Alia Bhatt joins Neetu and Kareena Kapoor Khan as she shares the official statement on Rajiv Kapoor's chautha

Rajiv Kapoor passed away on Tuesday following a heart attack. He was 58. Late Rishi Kapoor’s wife Neetu Kapoor took to her Instagram handle to confirm the news of his demise. From Lata Mangeshkar, Madhuri Dixit-NeneKareena Kapoor Khan and Akshay Kumar mourned the demise of the filmmaker.

Recently, the Kapoor family released an official statement about the ‘Aasmaan’ actor’s chautha. “Due to the current pandemic circumstances, there will be no Chautha held for the Late Mr. Rajiv Kapoor for safety reasons. May his soul rest in peace. The entire Raj Kapoor family is a part of your grief too,” the statement read. Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram handle to share the statement with folded hands emoticon.

Rajiv was the younger brother of Randhir Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor. He is best known for starring in Raj Kapoor’s 1985 blockbuster ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili‘. The late actor was set to return to the screen after 30 years with filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker and Bhushan Kumar’s upcoming sports drama ‘Toolsidas Junior’.

Alia flew down to Mumbai to be with Ranbir Kapoor’s family following the sudden demise of Rajiv.
