Ayushmann Khurrana is not taking a birthday break today

Ayushmann Khurrana is turning 36 today and ushering in the day with his parents in Chandigarh, “after many years”. He says, “I am grateful that I’m spending my birthday with my entire family this year in Chandigarh. I don’t remember when was the last time that I got to do this in recent years. So, it is going to be very special, and I am really grateful for this.” Tahira Kashyap, his wife, posted pictures of smearing the actor’s face with cake as part of the birthday celebrations.

However, this will be a quiet celebration for Ayushmann given the fact that he is preparing aggressively for his body transformation for the next film where he plays a cross-functional athlete to be directed by Abhishek Kapoor. “I am running against time to achieve the desired physique for this film. And I know for a fact that I cannot take even a single day off from working out. So, even on my birthday, I am going to train hard.”

Even today he says he will be undergoing “a gruelling training session”, without taking any birthday break. While 2020 has put a spanner in everyone’s work in the film industry, Ayushmann has still made the best of his time and became one of the first celebrities to resume shooting when he shot for a few endorsements from Chandigarh.

He has also spent quality time reading, watching content and writing poems. Speaking about his varied expressions through different forms of art Ayushmann says, “I believe, any creative person should flow like a river and have a multitude of experiences. Doing different things really makes me happy. I will continue to express myself in various creative ways because I do believe that the world is an oyster for me. As of now, I am thoroughly enjoying looking for the best scripts and trying hard to bring those stories to life on screen.” Last week, Ayushmann also joined UNICEF for promoting rights #ForEveryChild and support the global organization in its work on ending violence against children in India.
