Bajirao Mastani directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali was produced by Kishore Lulla and Sanjay Leela Bhansali under Bhansali Productions and Eros International, Sudeep Chatterjee has handled the cinematography editing was done by Rajesh G. Pandey. Beautiful costumes were designed by Anju Modi and Maxima Basu.

The story based on Maratha warrior, Bajirao (Ranveer Singh) fall in love with Mastani (Deepika Padukone) in the battlefield, the twist is that Bajirao is already married to Kashi Bai (Priyanka Chopra)
Shooting began on 9 October 2004 on the set in Film City Mumbai, Other outdoor locations are Amer Fort in Jaipur, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, Most of the shoot filming in Rajasthan.
Many other Directors like Kamal Amrohi, Manmohan Desai and Muzaffar Ali had tried to make the film about the Maratha Peshwa Bajirao and his second wife Mastani but they were never made, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had intended to make Bajirao Mastani.
