The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had started its investigation after a drugs angle surfaced in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death and now the agency has widened its probe. They have called several film celebrities for questioning.
According to reports, Sara Ali Khan might appear before the NCB on September 26. Meanwhile Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor’s name have also come into light. Actor Rakul Preet Singh and Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash have also been summoned.
Now, actor-politician Mimi Chakraborty’s latest tweet on the alleged drug nexus in Bollywood has gone viral. The ‘SOS Kolkata’ actress wrote: “patriarchy women in Bollywood” go for hash and drugs and the men in the film industry only “cook and clean and pray for their better half”. The Jadavpur MP further added men in “Bollywood pray their joined hands and tears in eye by saying ‘Bhawan unki raksha karna’ (God protect them)”
Her comments are no doubt interesting as the central anti-drug agency hasn’t yet mentioned the name of male actors in connection to the drug case. Earlier, several reports suggested as many as six male Bollywood actors have called their lawyers, allegedly fearing what might happen over NCB’s crackdown on the drug nexus. Not only that, several stars are reportedly doing all they can to avoid any such scenario. Even some talent management agencies have allegedly hit the panic button after KWAN was dragged under NCB scanner.
