Bollywood star Jackie Shroff to play the main villain in Rajinikanth's Annaatthe?

It is known that superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Annaatthe’ directed by Siva has a huge line up of star cast. While there are popular stars such has Prakash Raj and Vela Ramamoorthy, who were reported to be playing the villain in the film, the latest buzz is that Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, who played the antagonist in Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Bigi’, has been roped in to play the mail villain in ‘Annaatthe’.

The star cast in the rural-based family entertainer includes Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Meena, Kushbhu, Prakashraj, Sathish, Soori, Goerge Maryan and many others and has with music by D Imman. While we has earlier reported that the shooting of the film is set to resume soon with the set works going on at a brisk pace in ECR, it is said that portion involving Keerthy Suresh and Nayanthara will be shot first.

Jackie Shroff is expected to join shooting are wrap up his portions without Rajinikanth before January and rest of the combination shots with Rajinikanth will be shot in January, when the superstar joins the shooting. Superstar Rajinikanth is expected to join the team for shooting only in January. The superstar has already completed shooting for about 50 percent of his portions and the remaining scenes would be shot in January.

Jackie Shroff made a mark in Kollywood by playing a memorable role in Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s critically acclaimed film Aaranya Kaandam. After a decade, he was seen as the antagonist in Vijay-starrer, Bigil last year.

‘Annaatthe’ is produced by Sun Pictures, and it has many popular faces from the industry. While the release of the film which was pushed to Pongal 2021 after initially being planned as a Diwali release, the latest is that the makers are eyeing a Tamil New Year’s day release for the film.
