City filmmaker Aneek Chaudhuri shifting base to Malayalam Cinema

City Filmmaker Aneek Chaudhuri seems to be permanently venturing into Malayalam Cinema after his previous film ‘Katti Nrittam’. Accounting to his recent posts and comments on social media, it looks like he is already preparing for his next Malayalam flick.

When asked about this, during an exclusive chat with ETimes Aneek said: “I have shifted in Calcutta four years back; I made films here, however kept aloof from the industry. But, one cannot entirely infer that I am leaving the city just from my social media posts.”

In a current post, he mentioned to announce his next project soon and also said that it would be a Malayalam film. On this, he replies: “It might take another year or so, even it may take 2 years. In today’s scenario, nothing is certain. Therefore, people should not already guess my exit from Bengal. I do love the city! It has taught me a lot too.”

He adds, “Yes, Malayalam Cinema has a strong impact, personally. I love the films from that region. I have a strong respect for actors from that industry too. However, if anything comes up, I would be glad.”

Meanwhile, Aneek’sKatti Nrittam‘ is a modern day adaptation of Mahabharata and comments a lot on the dark side of established superiority. The film has been divided into five chapters i.e. Draupadi, Abhimanyu, Arjuna and Subhadra, Arjuna and Draupadi and Subhadra Haranam.
