CONFIRMED: Ranveer Singh's '83 to hit the big screen on Christmas, Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi shifted to 2021

COVID-19 Pandemic and lockdown took a massive toll on the entertainment industry. Movie release dates got postponed and shootings were stalled. As things are getting back to normal, several B-town stars are back on the sets after months of lockdown. According to the latest Mumbai Mirror report, films have lined up for release. A few months ago Reliance Entertainment revealed that Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ and Kabir Khan’s ’83 will be releasing on Diwali and Christmas respectively.

As per the Mirror report, Akshay Kumar’s film has now been pushed to 2021 while Ranveer Singh’s sports drama ’83 will be releasing on Christmas this year. Reliance Entertainment CEO Shibasish Sarkar told the daily, ”We definitely don’t want to change the date of 83 for Sooryavanshi. The sport drama is still slated to release on Christmas. We have to decide on the new date of Sooryavanshi with the director and actor, but the film should release between January and March.”

Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi, a biopic on the Prime Minister that features Vivek Oberoi in the titular role, will re-release in cinemas on October 15. It will be the first film to hit theatres post the lockdown. Producer Sandip Ssingh took to his social media handle and wrote, “PM Narendra Modi has been the best Prime minister of the country, which was proven in the 2019 elections. What can be better than watching the inspiring story of the most inspiring leader of today’s times, as theatres re-open.”
