Deepika Padukone summoned by NCB: Mumbai Police asked to deploy additional security as she is expected to give her statement tomorrow

Deepika Padukone was issued summons by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Wednesday. Her name emerged in connection to the ongoing drugs-probe, which has come to light during Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case investigation. Deepika is expected to appear before the NCB on September 25 and according to Times Now, the Mumbai Police has been asked to deploy additional security ahead of her visit. The Bollywood actress is expected to give her statement to the investigating agency tomorrow, at their office in the city.

Deepika was shooting in Goa for her next film, which is directed by Shakun Batra. After having received the summon, the actress is expected to arrive in the city, she will reportedly board a charter plane from Goa to Mumbai. Reports suggested that Deepika has also sought legal advice through video conferencing with her team of lawyers. Her husband Ranveer Singh also reportedly participated in the video meeting.

Deepika Padukone’s name emerged after several “drug chats” under the NCB’s scrutiny reportedly revealed initials of five celebrities, namely – K, D, S, N, and J. Times Now had stated that ‘D’ has been allegedly identified as Deepika Padukone while ‘K’ was her manager Karishma Prakash, who was also summoned by the NCB.
