Deewar movie was written by Salim Javed, Directed by Yash Chopra, Produced by Gulshan Rai under Trimurti Films Pvt. Ltd, Kay Ghee has handled the cinematography and editing was done by T.R Mangeshkar and Pran Mehra.

It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Nirupa Roy, Parveen Babi in a lead role with supporting cast  Manmohan Krishna, Madan Puri, Ifteqar, Jagdish Raj, Rajkishore, A K Hangal, Satyendra Kapoor, Manmohan Krishna, Aruna Irani, Kamal Kapoor, Dulari, Rajan Varma, Raju Shrestha, and Mohan sherry.

It was released on 24 January 1975, the film grossed ₹75 million at the Indian Box Office and It was one of the three Hindi films featured in the book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die, the others being Mother India (1957) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

The Film won seven Filmfare Awards for Best Film to Gulshan Rai, Best Director to Yash Chopra, Best Supporting Actor to Shashi Kapoor, Best Story, Best Screenplay, and Best Dialogue to Salim-Javed and Best Sound to M.A Shaikh.

Rahul Dev Burman was given the music and lyrics were penned by Sahir Ludhianvi, all songs of a movie was very good and the song “Kehdoon Tumhe” was a chartbuster.

The Story started with a union leader who fought for their rights. But the owners of the factory plotted conspiracy and termed him a thief. His family could not face the society and moved out from that place, the elder son Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) was a man who loved him mother too deeply and his love for his mother forced him to do bad deeds and he kept his feet in the criminal world and soon became underworld don, and her younger son Ravi (Shashi Kapoor) becomes a police officer who is very true at his work. He soon finds out that his brother made all his wealth through smuggling He and his mother leave the house of Vijay, Ultimately, Vijay’s misery compels him to seek redemption, but his attempt to obliterate the wall dividing his family will exact an unthinkable price

Nirupa Roy gives a Magnificent Performance as the mother, Amitabh Bachchan gives a Powerhouse performance playing the very serious and disturbed angry man, Shashi Kapoor was impressive as the confused brother, Parveen Babi and Neetu Singh acting was fabulous.
