Dhaakad

‘Dhaakad’ is a contemporary movie, the style of action is different. The film is directed by Razneesh Ghai and produced by Sohail Maklai. The film aims to give Bollywood its first female-led actioner. Few weeks ago, the makers of the film had released a teaser where Kangana could be seen firing rounds from machine guns, which gave a glimpse into the scale and the vibe of the movie.

Kangana Ranaut has now revealed that the film is in the same space as Hollywood sci-fi action film series, ‘Resident Evil’. Kangana shares, “’Dhaakad’ is in the same space as ‘Resident Evil’. It has several chase sequences and sword fights. I will use all kinds of sophisticated weapons, including some of the latest machine guns. I believe one must pick up new skills for every movie. I don’t like to rush into any project as it makes me anxious.”

Kangana Ranaut is all set to make the Diwali of 2020 all the more ‘Dhamakedaar’ with her next film Dhaakad. The 45-second teaser begins with a ferocious and daring Kangana shooting point blank with a machine gun.

Talking about the teaser, Kangana said in a statement, “The guns that were used for the teaser were real and were very heavy. It took all my strength to lift one. My director Razy had a great time seeing me struggle with the machines having a good laugh. Hopefully he will have me to use dummy guns for the shoot of the film.”

The makers have met action directors from Hong Kong and Thailand for training Kangana in Gun Fu; which is a mix of martial arts and gun sequence.

Kangana, in an earlier interview, said that Dhaakad will be a turning point for Indian cinema. Dhaakad is not only a benchmark film for my career but will be a turning point for Indian cinema as well.

The film is mounted on a large scale, is one of a kind female led action film. If it is received well, there will be no looking back for women in Indian Cinema,” the actress had said. Kangana is ready for battle and can be seen standing in the middle of a burning set, with a gun in both hands.

In an interview, Kangana said, “After the success of Manikarnika, it has been proven that audience across the globe are loving larger than life films with a female hero. Dhaakad is not only a benchmark film for my career but will be a turning point for Indian cinema as well. The film is mounted on a large scale, is one of a kind female led action film, and is apt for a Diwali release. If it is received well, there will be no looking back for women in Indian Cinema.”
