South star actor Dhanush made his debut in Bollywood with Aanand L Rai’s ‘Raanjhanaa‘, which had Sonam Kapoor as the female lead. The film also had Abhay Deol, Swara Bhaskar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in supporting roles. The film hit the screens in 2013 and now after 7 years, actor Abhay Deol has criticized the film for glorifying stalking and sexual harassment.

The Bollywood actor called the movie has a regressive message, and said that glorifying stalking in movies can lead to sexual violence in society. Sharing a netizen’s logical, clear and valid insight regarding the film, Abhay Deol said, “History will not look kindly at this film for its regressive message. It’s been a theme in Bollywood for decades, where a boy can (and should), pursue a girl until she relents. Only in cinema does she do that willfully. In reality we have seen time and again that it leads to sexual violence of some sort. Glorifying it on screen only leads to blaming the victim.
