Dulquer Salmaan is all set to begin work on his first Malayalam film in 2021 with the Rosshan Andrrews’ directorial that is reportedly titled Salute. The movie has already got a lot going for it, with acclaimed writers Bobby and Sanjay scripting the film and Dulquer playing the role of a cop throughout a movie for the first time in his career.
Now, we hear that Bollywood actress Diana Penty, who had starred in Cocktail and Happy Bhaag Jayegi, will be making her South debut with the film. We tried to reach out to Rosshan and Sanjay for official confirmation but both were unavailable.
With Dulquer also backing the movie, the film could be released in several languages due to the star’s pan-Indian appeal. Sanjay had earlier confirmed to us that the script for the film was ready last year but the shoot was postponed due to the pandemic.
The film’s shoot is set to begin on February 3 with Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kasargode and New Delhi being the main locations. A total of 75 days has been allotted for the investigative thriller. The movie’s technical crew consists of Kollywood composer Santosh Narayanan and editor Sreekar Prasad. The duo are also working on Tovino Thomas’ Anveshippin Kandethum and Prithviraj’s Brahmam, respectively, in Mollywood.
Meanwhile, Dulquer has recently wrapped up the shoot of choreographer Brinda’s directorial debut Hey Sinamika, which also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari. His next release will be Kurup, which will be released on May 28 in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.
