Actor-producer Dileep is elated as theatres in Kerala are re-opening today, after a 10 months hiatus. Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Master’ is the opening film for the cinema halls in Kerala. Dileep in his recent post said that January 13 is a historic day for Malayalam cinema. “Today, January 13 is a historic day for Malayalam cinema. The theatres in Kerala that were put on halt are reopening today,” Dileep said.
The actor also added that he is praying for a healthy environment ahead so that it would be able to screen good movies.
Dileep also poured in wishes for Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Master’, which has brought hope to a good start. The actor also urged movie stars and technicians to bring their families to the cinema halls to encourage the audience to visit the theatres.
It was on Monday, the state government agreed to the demands and concerns put forward by various film bodies in the state. The Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan announced a few relaxations that would help the producers and exhibitors to cope up with the pandemic blues. From exempting cinema theaters from entertainment tax from Jan to Mar(2021), to reducing fixed electricity charged by 50% for the 10 months during when theatres were closed to extending the validity of various licenses, the CM’s decision has lent a helping hand to the entertainment industry in Kerala, which has suffered the most due to the pandemic.
