Director Prabu Solomon plays himself in his acting debut

The trend of directors turning actors has picked up again in Kollywood! Gautham Vasudev Menon turned a full-fledged actor a few years ago with Goli Soda 2, and Selvaraghavan is making his acting debut with Saani Kayidham this year. And now, Prabu Solomon is joining the long list! The director, who is working now on the censor formalities of his trilingual flick Kaadan, will be playing himself in debutant R Vijayakumar’s Azhagiya Kanne, starring Sanchita Shetty in the lead. Prabu says he immediately agreed to do the role because it was a fairly easy one to pull off. He says, “I will join the team when I am back in Chennai, sometime in the first week of March. The story has an interesting portion that involves a filmmaker. I will be seen as director Prabu Solomon, as someone who encourages youngsters. I have just five days of shooting.”

Prabu is also busy with the post-production work of his other film, Kumki 2, now.
