Biswanth Basu is shooting for a new travel-food show, titled Mashima Malpoa Khamu, inspired by the comic legend Bhanu Bondopadhyay’s famous film dialogue. This show is being shot keeping in mind the late actor’s 100 th anniversary this year. “My all-time favourite actor is Bhanu Bandopadhyay. I feel he is one of the finest actors we ever had. In a way, it is my tribute to him. It is a 13-episode series, which will be shot in 13 districts of Bengal. I have always been a vagabond by nature. I have travelled to many places and tasted their local food. This show is on those lines, where I am tracking the special food of each particular district and a story follows related to that,” said the actor.
Biswanath, who is actively involved with Durga Puja preparations at his ancestral place at Arbalia village in Basirhat district, is traveling frequently to oversee the arrangements for puja. “This will be the 377th year of our puja. The pandemic is still on but we are going ahead with the puja keeping safety measures and social distancing in mind. Like each year, I will be there at our barir pujo on Shasthi,” said Biswanath.
The actor is currently shooting for the film Bagh, (Tiger) directed by Sourish. “Shooting in this new normal is a different feeling, but with time I have got used to it. I think, we will be flying to London in October to continue shooting for Baazi, in which Mimi Chakraborty and Jeet are playing the lead. The shooting of the film got disrupted midway because of the coronavirus pandemic and we had to fly back to Kolkata,” said the actor.
