Durgapur International Short Film Festival back with its fifth edition

After successfully organizing the previous four seasons, Durgapur International Short Film Festival (DISFF) is back with its fifth season this year. The festival has screened over 500 short films from various parts of the globe in its last four seasons. This year the 5th season has seen a total submission of more than 150 short films from various countries around the world.

The 5th season was supposed to be held in April but due to outbreak of Covid-19, it got postponed to September. Though the internal processes like initial screening, selection of credentials etc. have started in June and will be completed by mid-August before the final result declaration on September 13. The judges panel includes big names like Goutam Ghose and Ashok Biswanathan. Life time Achievement Award will be given to the stalwart of Indian theatre Chapal Bhaduri.

Following is the event flow of DISFF-5 (2020):

Initial Screening by Panel Members: 16th Jun to 15th August 2020

Notification of Selection/Rejection: 15th Aug 2020 (Sunday)

Screening of selected films by Jury Members: 16th Aug to 10th September 2020

Final Result Declaration: 13th Sep 2020 (Sunday)

Due to the complete restriction of public gathering amid the pandemic, the whole festival is being conducted through online digital platforms with utmost priority of transparency at every stage.
