Director Susienthiran’s mother, Jayalakshmi, passed away this morning. She was 62. Jayalakshmi was rushed to the hospital after she had a heart attack but she passed away at 11am. The final rites will be held at her home in Oddanchathram this evening.
It was only yesterday that Susienthiran’s latest release Eeswaran starring Silambarasan TR and Nidhhi Agerwal hit screens. The film has been receiving positive reviews from the audience who are seeing Silambarasan, that too in a rural avatar after a long time.
Susienthiran made his directorial debut with Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (2009), which was based on some real incidents that revolved around his father, who was a Kabaddi player. He went on to make some impressive films like Naan Mahan Alla, Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai, Pandiya Naadu, Jeeva, Paayum Puli and Kennedy Club to name a few. Susienthiran’s brother Saravanan runs the production and distribution house, Nallusamy Pictures, named after their father.
