Emraan Hashmi talks about gratifying his creative itch, says he tries to find a balance by doing both commercial and parallel cinema

Emraan Hashmi recently opened up about being part of films of different genres and not getting trapped in an image that the film industry has created for him. According to him, these limitations in the industry don’t let an actor experiment much.

Talking about the same, he told a news portal that actors generally get labelled and are seen in sync with certain kinds of films. According to him, if you’re doing commercial films you’re bound to follow certain commercial dictates. You might play different characters in different genres but you still are a Hindi film hero so to say. He added that one can’t really push the envelope too much.

Elaborating further, Emraan added that as a performer he needs to gratify his creative itch. And every time he gets a good opportunity he doesn’t let it go, even though some of these are niche films. According to the actor, when he goes back to commercial cinema, he goes back refreshed. The actor feels that it is important to break the rules, stereotypes and do something outside of the boundary.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Emraan will next be seen in ‘Mumbai Saga’, ‘Chehre’, ‘Sab First Class Hai’ and ‘Ezra’.
