Exclusive! Aaditi Pohankar: Prakash Jha's courage and bravery convinced me to take up Pammi's role in 'Aashram'

After impressing one and all with her stellar performance in Bollywood and Marathi industry, the ‘Lai Bhaari’ actress Aaditi Pohankar is slowly but gradually making her mark in digital platform too.

Aaditi’s breakthrough performance came with the late Nishikant Kamat’s ‘Lai Bhaari’. Now, the actress has again gained the spotlight for her web series Bobby Deol starrer ‘Aashram’.

In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Aaditi said “It was quite a challenge because you must have seen me playing a completely different role in Imtiaz Ali’s crime drama which was released on a digital platform. It is easier to play a Maharashtrian girl because I am from Mumbai. Even though the strata was different but I did my own way of understanding to play that character”

She further elaborated that “My character in Prakash Jha’s ‘Aashram’ is very different and Prakash sir is from Patna and he knew exactly what kind of person he was looking for Pammi. When I met him, he told me “Kahani Tho Pammi Ki Hai”, I said “Ok sir”, then Prakash sir said “Nahi Yaha Pe Rukna Nahi Hai, Kahani Pammi ki Aur Apka Kirdaar Ek wrestler Ka hai. Aur Tumhe Usse Ek wrestler Ki Taraha Hi Nibhana Hoga”.

While sharing her experience in working with filmmaker Prakash Jha, Aaditi said “Prakash sir is a very soft-hearted person who walks with his actors. He loves people who work hard and he all-out for people who work hard. I choose this role of Pammi because she is the most important in the film. I think Prakash sir is fearless and his courage and bravery convinced me to take up this role. So that’s why he can come such content”

While speaking about ‘Aashram’ Co-star Bobby Deol, Aaditi said “We hardly used to get time to talk during the shoot. But I am happy that I got a chance to do a rehearsal with Bobby Deol. He is so down to earth and a thorough gentleman. I had a very beautiful experience”
