Padmini Kolhapure’s son Priyank Sharma and Karim Morani’s daughter Shaza got married on February 4. ETimes was the first to break the news about the wedding date. We also brought you exclusive pictures from the party held at the Morani household in Juhu post the court marriage.
Last night, we spoke to Shaza’s sister-actress Zoa who made her first Bollywood splash in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’ and will soon be seen in Poonam Dhillon’s son Anmol Thakeria’s debut film ‘Tuesdays & Fridays’.
How long have you and your family known Priyank?
We’ve known Priyank since he was in 1st std in Jamnabai school. He was my brothers’ Alim and Azhar’s best friend and has remained so.
When did you know that your sister Shaza was in love with Priyank?
Where are they going to stay? In Padmini’s house or any new accommodation?
Was there any parental resistance to the marriage from either side?
No, none at all, they in fact wanted them to get hitched since quite a while.
Did you’ll think of postponing the marriage at any point because you were compelled to invite only a few people?
It was just what Shaza wanted even otherwise- a small, intimate affair. We are grateful to God that all went well.
Are you missing your sister?
Don’t even ask. I have been experiencing a whirlwind of emotions, recently – it’s a whole, new bitter-sweet feeling, sometimes I don’t know why I’m even crying. I hope I don’t have to miss her and she can be stuck to me for life, even after marriage.
Do you believe in the institution of marriage?
Never really thought of it, to be honest. Now that my sister is married I will be learning a lot about the institution.
Do you have a Mr Right whom you have tucked away and we have not been efficient enough to find out?
I think I need to become efficient enough to find him (smiles).
