For the last two months, actress Fatima Sana Shaikh, who will be seen in Anurag Basu’s Ludo with Rajkummar Rao and in Abhishek Sharma’s Suraj Pe Mangal Bhaari with Diljit Dosanjh, has been stationed in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The Dangal girl travelled to the state as soon as the lockdown was lifted and she could procure permission to travel out of the state (Maharashtra).
“I will be back in Mumbai in a few days,” she chuckles, adding, “I finally did get out of the house. I was restless at home at the beginning of the lockdown but I eventually got my groove. By the end of it, I was chilling. I had become used to it. I was enjoying myself at home. I got a puppy and I was taking care of it. I found things to do and keep me occupied. It was not as tough as I had thought it would be.”
Fatima’s instagram page evidences her love for travelling and exploring the world. Bring that up and she says, “I came to Dharamshala and I have been here for two months. The safety norms are pretty much the same and everyone’s following it, strictly. This place is like a second home for me. I used to come here two or three times a year. I have friends here who are like family to me. I have a space here to stay where I feel so close to nature. I wake up to see mountains around me. Mumbai has no space to walk, and I am here, in the lap of nature, walking into the greenery and enjoying fresh air. I needed some space. I find my house in Mumbai really tiny and also a bit closed up. I wanted to get out. The thing is I love to travel. I am very fortunate that I have people around me who also love to explore. I meet all kinds of people when I journey. Like this time, we were on a hike and a kid identified me and asked me to drop in to her house for tea. It was a remote village in that area. I went over and had such a good time talking to these people and hearing their stories.”
