Film frat meets CM Yogi Adityanath to discuss UP Film City project

After filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday, more names from the film industry joined the CM to discuss the Noida film city project on Tuesday. The meeting was held at the CM’s official residence in Lucknow, and Subhash Ghai, Saundarya Rajinikanth, Kailash Kher and Udit Narayan were among those invited to attend the meeting. Anupam Kher joined the meeting virtually. Other names invited to join virtually included David Dhawan, Neeraj Pandey, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, Satish Kaushik, Raaj Shaandilyaa and Vivek Agnihotri.

“The meeting started on Tuesday afternoon and while some people joined the meeting virtually, some like Kailash Kher travelled to Lucknow just to attend the meeting. The meeting was to share ideas and thoughts on the recently announced film city project in Noida,” informs a source.

Last Friday, the UP Chief Minister had directed officials to search for suitable land to set up the “biggest and most beautiful” film city in Gautam Buddh Nagar. Interacting with public representatives and officials of the Meerut division, the CM said that in the current circumstances, the country needs a good quality film city, and UP is ready to take up this responsibility. He asked officials to search for the land in or around Noida, Greater Noida or Yamuna Expressway and prepare an action plan in this regard. “This film city will not only provide better opportunities to film-makers but also job opportunities to the youths from the state,” he was quoted as saying.
