We had reported earlier that Gautham Karthik and Radhakrishnan Parthiban will be teaming up for a crime thriller, which will be directed by Ezhil. The shoot of the film, which is based on a novel by Rajesh Kumar, was recently wrapped up. We went to the set during its last schedule to get a feel of the film, and found that the team was shooting for a fun song. Colourful costumes and quirky set-up were the order of the day. While Gautham was rehearsing his moves, we dragged Ezhil along to know more about the film. “I’ve done a lot of comedy films, but I’ve always wanted to try something different. That’s when I came across this story — it’s a murder mystery, something that I haven’t handled before,” he said. Gautham says, “It was a thrilling experience to work on something that I haven’t explored as yet. So, in that sense, it was an interesting film to work on. With comedy, you handle things differently when it comes to the making. But for this, you need to plan and compose your shots in a different manner. A lot of effort has gone into the making.”
He plays a private detective, while Parthiban plays the role of a cop. The director had earlier told us that the film is based on a sound system. “There is something called a war decibel… a sound people used to hear during war. That sound is so high that people also call it the death decibel,” he says.
Ezhil says, “Both Parthiban and Gautham have done an amazing job. The film has come out really well, and we plan to release in April.”
Like Ezhil sir mentioned, this is the first time he is exploring a serious script. It is a double-hero subject and I had a blast working with Parthiban sir. He has done a great job as a cop, and has performed every scene so well. He is a dedicated actor and a big plus for the film. Ezhil sir was fun to work with and he ensured we all had a gala time on the set. Saipriyaa, too, plays a lovely character. Imman sir has created a different soundscape for this film. I am looking forward to the release. – Gautham Karthik, actor
‘i learnt a lot from this project’
I have done films in Malayalam and this is a first for me in Tamil. I am really happy to work with a senior director like Ezhil sir. I was initially intimidated as he is a big director. But he was very cool and I learnt a lot working on this project. Gautham, too, is humble and treats his co-artistes in a nice manner. I play a bold and lovable girl in the film. There was a lot of scope to show my acting prowess. In fact, all the characters have importance in the film.
