Hemant Dhome: Big releases will bring audience back to cinema halls

Recent announcement by the central government removing 50 percent capping on seating capacity has sent positivity among the filmmakers. Happy with the move actor-director and filmmaker Hemant Dhome says release of bigger films first will help the entire film industry.

Recently, Hemant has announced the theatrical release of his next film ‘Jhimma’ spoke to us on the release of his film. Hemant says, “Our film Jhimma is ready for release. After the central government’s node, we are waiting for the state government to lift the capping of 50 percent occupancy in cinema halls. I think bigger films should be released first to attract the audience to cinema halls. Still audience are in second thought to visit the halls. Once audiences start coming in, smaller films can be released.” As movie theatres are opening up, audience are also thinking of going back to theatres.

Directed by Hemant, Jhimma is also the first film of his and wife Ksheeti’s production company. Written by Irawati Karnik, The movie features Sonalee and Siddharth Chandekar in lead roles. Mrinmayee Godbole, Sayali Sanjeev, Nirmiti Sawant, Suchitra Bandekar, Kshitee Jog and Suhas Joshi among others.

Hemant recently had cameo appearance in TV show ‘Chandra Aahe Sakshila’. The TV show also features, Subodh Bhave, Rutuja Bagwe and Nakshatra Medhekar among others. Hemant is also shooting for his next movie ‘Fakat’ near Pune. Directed by Shreyash Jadhav, ‘Fakat’ is comedy film which will feature Suyog Gorhe, Nitesh Chavan, Sayali Sanjeev, Kabir Duhan Singh and Avinash Narkar among others. After the impressing the audience with debut directorial film, ‘Me Pan Sachin’, ‘Pune Rap’ fame Marathi rapper King JD aka Shreyash is working on this project.
