I have missed facing the camera, so it feels great to be back on sets: Sushanth A

After seven long months, actor Sushanth finally got back on sets earlier this week and is thrilled to be back in action again. “I remember the last time I shot was on March 15. We were just trying to get our head around the Covid-19 pandemic and I thought we’ll just take a seven-day break as a precautionary measure, but ended up getting a seven-month-long one instead,” he chuckles, adding, “But it’s great to finally be back on the sets. I’ve really missed facing the camera.”

Sushanth is shooting for Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu, directed by debutant Darshan, and stars opposite Femina Miss India 2018 first runner-up Meenakshi Chaudhary. “We’re easing into the shoot with a couple of dance montages, so it’s a fun way to start. It goes without saying, we’re taking all the necessary precautions, including mandatory temperature checks, sanitisers, masks and face shields for the crew. We aim to finish the film in a single schedule by the end of this month so a busy time lies ahead,” he shares.

In all the stills from the film released so far, the Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo actor is seen on a bike. Does he play a biker in the film, we wonder. “You will have to wait and watch to know that. All I can say is that it’s a film that’ll show a whole new, uninhibited side of me. It’s a thriller-comedy based on a real incident so I found it exciting. I don’t want to be typecast in a particular kind of role so I hope with this film, people can see me as a versatile performer,” he says, signing off.
