Imran Khan is no longer an actor, but there is a better writer-director inside him, reveals friend Akshay Oberoi

‘Gurgaon’ fame actor Akshay Oberoi recently opened up about his best friend in Bollywood, Aamir Khan’s nephew, Imran Khan, and confirmed that the ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ actor has left acting for good.

Hoping that Imran debuts as a writer and director soon, Akshay shared with Navbharat Times that Imran is his close friend whom he can call even at 4 am as they have known each other for almost 18 years since they studied acting together at Kishore Acting School in Andheri West.

He further added that although Imran has left acting for the moment, there is a better writer and director in him and he might channel his inner skills to direct his film soon. He believes Khan will make a wonderful film because of his sensibility and understanding of cinema.

On the professional front, Imran Khan made his Bollywood debut as a child actor in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’. He was last seen in filmmaker Nikkhil Advani’s rom-com ‘Katti Batti’ where he shared the screen with Kangana Ranaut. Ever since then, the actor has maintained a distance from Bollywood for almost 5 years now.
