After roping in Aishwarya Rajesh to play the female lead in Mohandas, his thriller with Vishnu Vishal, director Murali Karthick has now brought Mollywood actor Indrajith Sukumaran to play a key role in the film.
“I did not want a familiar face from our industry but someone who would relatively be a fresh face for our Tamil audiences. I was looking for a performer who was middle-aged but also quite fit, and Indrajith checked all these criteria,” says Karthick.
However, he gets cagey when you ask him about Indrajith’s role. All he says is that it will be a “very important” character role. “I sent him the script and he liked it a lot and agreed to part of it,” he adds.
Vishnu, Aishwarya and Indrajith will be the principal cast of the film while there will be a few young actors in minor supporting roles. “Vishnu will have a bespectacled look in this movie, and Aishwarya’s will be a challenging role. All three roles will be impactful,” he assures.
The film is currently in the final stages of pre-production and will be going on floors in the first week of March. Karthick, who previously made Kalavu, starring Kalaiyarasan and Karunakaran, has retained the crew of that film for this project as well. “My music director KS Sundaramurthy, cinematographer Vignesh Rajagopalan and editor Kiripakaran Purushothaman are all working in this film. We have roped in Arunshankar Durai, who worked on last year’s Godfather, as the art director,” he informs. The team will be shooting most of the film in Chennai and some parts of it in Kochi and Dubai.
