Jacqueline Fernandez joins Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon in Sajid Nadiadwala's gangster drama 'Bachchan Pandey'

On Nov 5, Jacqueline Fernandez started shooting for the horror comedy ‘Bhoot Police’, alongside Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Yami Gautam, in ‘Dharamshala’. The actress returns to Mumbai today to jump into Rohit Shetty’s ‘Comedy of Errors’, ‘Cirkus’, which pairs her with Ranveer Singh for the first time. While interacting with source earlier, (Oct 29) the actress had hinted at the possibility of signing one more film. That big ticket film is ‘Bachchan Pandey’, which reunites her with Akshay Kumar after four years. The duo had previously worked together in Housefull 2 and 3, and Brothers.

“I was very new to the industry when I did the song ‘Dhanno’ in Housefull for Nadiad (producer Sajid Nadiadwala). Our friendship goes way back to then and I am elated to be working with him again in Bachchan Pandey, our eighth film together,” exulted Jacqueline, adding, “It’s always a crazy ride with Akshay and I am sure we will all have a blast again.”

According to a source close to the development, the story demands two actresses. “While Kriti Sanon plays a journalist who aspires to be a filmmaker, Jacqueline’s character is currently being kept under wraps,” the source reveals, adding that she has a significant role in taking forward the story of a gangster, who is also an aspiring actor. The Farhad Samji directorial rolls in Jaisalmer from January 6. They will be shooting for two months nonstop at real locations in Rajasthan.

Apart from Bachchan Pandey, Jacqueline has another Sajid Nadiadwala film in her kitty, Kick 2, which will be her third with Salman Khan. The action-thriller is currently being scripted by Sajid with writing partner Rajat Arora and rolls sometime next year.
