Jisshu Sengupta cherishes his Bollywood experience

Jisshu Sengupta is much in demand, not just in Tollywood, but also in Bollywood and the Telugu film industry. Apart from a good number of Bengali films, he was recently seen in Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sadak 2’ and Anu Menon’s ‘Shakuntala Devi’, is already a hit. Although ‘Sadak 2’ failed to attract the cine lovers Jisshu’s performance was praiseworthy.

During an exclusive chat with ETimes, the dashing actor was all praise for his leading ladies in both the films — Alia Bhatt and Vidya Balan. About Vidya, he says, “Vidya is a wonderful lady. She knew Nilanjanaa and my sister-in-law, Chandana, for long through Pradeep Sarkar. In between, we would bump into each other at film festivals and other events. Then, we worked together in NTR. She follows a lot of Bengali films and knows my movies with Rituda (Rituparno Ghosh). Before doing Begum Jaan, she saw ‘Rajkahini’ and loved my performance in the film. She is also interested to know about how the films are made in Kolkata now. She’s one of the sweetest co-stars I have worked with.”

Speaking about Alia, Jisshu says she is quite a nice girl. “She is young and happens to be one of the finest actors in the country now. Her mood depends on what scenes she’s shooting on a certain day. If it’s a fun scene, she’d be chirpy on that day. If it’s a serious scene, she would be in that zone. Working with Mahesh Bhatt was a revelation for me. It’s incredible the way he motivates an actor in his film. We have become very close and he has given me that space. I am thankful to him for that,” he added.
