Director Rathan Linga has kickstarted work on his next. Titled Gangster 21, the film stars Jr MGR aka V Ramachandran and Raai Laxmi in the lead. The film, which went on floors yesterday, will be shot in Chennai and Mangalore. The Attu director says, “We are delighted to launch the film, which has MGR’s grandson playing the lead, on Makkal Thilagam’s birth anniversary. The story revolves around a youngster who comes to Chennai from the Andaman Islands to meet his father. An unexpected incident happens because of the rampant gang wars in the area, and it changes his life forever.” Rathan, who is busy with the post-production of his other film Lock, adds that he is in talks with a leading Tamil and Malayalam star to play the role of the don in the film.
