Kajol reveals her father opposed her move to get married at 24 but her mom was her biggest supporter

Kajol and Ajay Devgn won hearts with the onscreen romance and beyond films, the couple enjoys a happily married life. Being married for nearly two decades, Kajol recently opened about not facing patriarchy and cited the example of having her way with her wedding, even when her father opposed it. Speaking to a news portal, Kajol revealed that her father Shomu Mukherjee was against her decision to get married at the age of 24. He opined that Kajol should work more before tying the knot. But her mother, veteran actress Tanuja, emerged as her massive supporter. Kajol revealed that her mother told her to go with her gut and she did exactly what she wanted to do.

Ajay Devgn and Kajol tied the knot on February 24, 1999 and this year they will celebrate 22 years of togetherness. Kajol is currently away in Singapore, staying with her daughter Nysa, who is pursuing her education there. While Ajay Devgn is fulfilling his daddy duties in Mumbai with his son Yug.

On the work front, Kajol and Ajay shared screen space as a couple in the historic drama ‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior’. The magnum opus was one of the biggest releases of 2020.
