Earlier, it was being reported that the film might release on OTT platforms but the news was later rubbished by the makers. In a statement issued on Twitter, the makers confirmed that the film will get its theatrical release and will later be followed by a digital release.

‘Thalaivi’ is being helmed by AL Vijay and has been written by ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Manikarnika’ writer KV Vijayendra Prasad. The movie was scheduled to hit theatres on June 26, 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the film has been pushed back.

On the work front, Kangana announced her next directorial venture with ‘Aparajita Ayodhya’ recently. It is based on the Ram Mandir case. She also has ‘Tejas’ in her kitty where she will be seen essaying the role of an air force officer.
