Kangana Ranaut has once given a hard hitting reply to veteran actress Jaya Bachchan’s statement wherein she had said that people are defaming the same industry which have made their careers, while using the popular Hindi proverb – ‘jis thali mein khate hain usmein chhed karte hain’ analogy. Replying to Jaya Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut wrote in Hindi, which translates as, “Which thali has Jaya ji and her industry given? Got got one thali which had a two-minute role, item numbers and one romantic scene, that too after sleeping with the hero. I taught feminism to this industry, decorated the thali with patriotic and female-centric films. This is my own thali, not yours Jaya ji.”
Veteran Bollywood actress and MP Jaya Bachchan had stated that the entertainment industry needs protection and that the image of the entire industry is being tarnished. Questioning her statement, Kangana had tweeted, “Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhieshek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also”.
Without naming anyone, Jaya Bachchan had taken a jibe at Ravi Kishan and stated, “I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame. People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that govt tells such people not to use this kind of language.” This statement was in response to Ravi Kishan’s previous claim that drug addiction exists in the film industry.
