With cases of domestic violence on the rise amidst lockdown, actress Katrina Kaif has stepped up to raise her voice against the social evil.
Taking to her handle, she shared a photo of herself with the words that read, ‘I am Fatima’. In her caption, she explained, “I am her voice today and the voices of the many victims of domestic abuse which are going unheard.”
The actress pointed out that the rising number of cases has put tremendous pressure on the resources of NGOs aiding to these victims. In an initiative to raise funds and resources to tackle the issue of domestic violence, the actress urged her fans to join in the noble cause and share a picture by using a victim’s name. Over the past weeks, several Bollywood celebrities including filmmaker Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar, Malaika Arora, Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza, Rahul Bose, among many others have expressed concern over the increase in domestic violence cases in the country.
