The actor who has done playback in Subhrajit Mitra’s film, Avijatrik- The Wanderlust of Apu, is happy to have worked with Bickram Ghosh for the first time. “I was the male lead in Subhrajit’s debut film, Mon Amour, and did playback too. After years, in Avijatrik, I did playback for this film. I sang the song Akash Bhora Surjo Tara for Arjun Chakrabarty in the film. The song got a lot of applause from the audience when it was screened at KIIF. I have learnt a lot from Bickram da while working in this film,” said the actor. Avijatrik is the concluding part of the original novel, Aparajito, written by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay. The film, Avijatrik, focuses on the wanderlust of the main protagonist and the story of a sublime bond between a father and a son. The story is of Apu and his 6 years old son, Kajol.
On Tuesday Shaheb was present at KIIF as he is also part of a documentary on Bhanu Bandopadhyay which was screened at the fest. “On Bhanu Bandopadhyay’s birth centenary, a documentary was made and I was a part of it. I feel he was one of the most talented actors we had. His comic timings were excellent, which proves that he was a brilliant actor. Jamalaye Jibanta Manush is my all-time favourite film by him,” said Shaheb.
