KS Ravikumar, Tharshan and Losliya in Android Kunjappan remake

Director-actor KS Ravikumar is all set to step into the shoes of Suraj Venjaramoodu in the Tamil remake of the award-winning Malayalam film Android Kunjappan Version 5.25. The film, titled Google Kuttappan, will be directed by two of his former assistants, Sabari and Saravanan, and have him playing a stubborn father. Ravikumar says, “Sabari and Saravanan have worked as assistant directors with me for over 10 years. They wanted to remake this film and had approached me with an acting offer. But somehow, they couldn’t go ahead with the producer they were supposed to work with. He had not procured the rights of the film as well. So, I went ahead and got the remake rights. I’m backing a film after almost 21 years, after Thenali.”

The movie also stars Tharshan and Losliya. “Tharshan is playing my son and Losliya is the female lead. Yogi Babu will play the friend’s role and Prankster Rahul is the antagonist.”

He adds, “We start recording work from today. Ghibran has been roped in as the music composer. We will start shooting from February 15 in Thenkasi, Kuttralam and nearby locations. We’ve planned a 10-day schedule in a foreign country in April. Since a small robot will also be playing a pivotal role, there will be a lot of VFX involved.”
