In a recent interview, Madhuri said that Pandit Birju Maharaj played a big role in teaching her the nuances of dance. She said that she had immense respect for the dance maestro who she had trained under and collaborated with several times over the years. She also said that she was particularly impressed with his interest in different types of dance forms. Madhuri, who has her own dance academy, added that she was honoured to have Pandit Birju Maharaj teach at her institute because she was a big fan of his dancing style.
On the work front, Madhuri was last seen on the big screen in ‘Kalank’, which had an ensemble cast comprising Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Kiara Advani, Kunal Kemmu and Kriti Sanon. While the film didn’t do well at the box office, Madhuri’s performance was widely appreciated.
