Veteran actor Mohan Babu Manchu’s new film Son of India, directed by Diamond Ratnababu went on to the floors in Hyderabad on Friday. The project marks the directorial debut of Diamond Ratnababu who earlier worked as a dialogue writer for films such as Gayatri, Luck Unnodu, Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam, Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham and Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda.
The film will be high on politics, sources have revealed. The film will feature Mohan Babu, for the first time in his career, in a different character. The cast and crew reportedly underwent a COVID-19 test before joining the sets. Son of India, which was announced on the Independence Day (August 15), was delayed due to the COVID-19 lockdown. While the project has gone on floors today, it is expected to be wrapped up early 2021. Son of India is being produced by 24 Frames Factory Banners and Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures.
While the shooting of this film has begun, Mohan Babu is waiting for the release of Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra, which is directed by Sudha Kongara and bankrolled by Suriya and Guneet Monga under the banner of 2D Entertainment in association with Sikhya Entertainment. Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra has Suriya in the lead role with Aparna Balamurali playing the female lead. The rest of the star cast includes Paresh Rawal, Urvashi, Karunas, Vivek Prasanna, Krishnakumar, Achyuth Kumar, G Gnanasambandam and Prakash Belawadi. The technical crew of this film comprises Niketh Bommireddy for camerawork and Sathish Suriya for editing with GV Prakash Kumar composing the tunes.
