Mrunal Thakur opens up about being on her own and not having a Godfather in Bollywood, says it is daunting yet empowering

After making an impressive debut with Tabrez Noorani’s ‘Love Sonia’, there has been no looking back for Mrunal Thakur. The actress recently opened up about being on her own and not having a Godfather in Bollywood.

Talking to a news portal, Mrunal reportedly said that the biggest challenge she faced in the industry is to bag her debut film which will showcase her skills as an actor. According to the actress, it wasn’t easy to convince director Tabrez Noorani that she would be able to pull the role off. However, once ‘Love Sonia’ started doing the festival rounds, it helped her bag film auditions.

Elaborating further, Mrunal added that when you don’t have a godfather, you are on your own and that is the most daunting, yet most empowering feeling. The actress added that she was scared, but it also made her go by her gut feeling more often. Mrunal went to say that she focussed on good stories rather than screen space. To her, it matters who she is collaborating with. So when a Nikkhil Advani or a Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra offers something, she takes the plunge.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Mrunal is currently shooting for the last schedule of ‘Jersey’ where she will be seen sharing the screen space with Shahid Kapoor. The film also stars Pankaj Kapur in a key role.
