Mumbai Saga

Mumbai Saga is a Hindi movie starring Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi in prominent roles. It is a drama directed by Sanjay Gupta. Actors Jackie Shroff and Suniel Shetty have been roped in to star alongside John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi in gangster drama Mumbai Saga. John Abraham is back as a gangster in the upcoming film Mumbai Saga and we have already got the first glimpse of his character on social media, thanks to the director, Sanjay Gupta.

John Abraham had already played the role of a gangster named Manya Surve in Shootout at Wadala (2013), which was also helmed by Sanjay Gupta. As far as John Abraham’s gangster look is concerned, it comes as a treat to his fans after Shootout at Wadala. Lately, he has only been seen as civil servants – a police inspector, an IAS officer and a RAW agent.

Sanjay shared on Twitter a still of Mumbai Saga featuring John in the role of Ganpat Roy saying that, “One of my favorite moments from MUMBAI SAGA and of course, Mr. Abraham like never before.” John, as a gangster, is seen sitting on a chair with one leg resting over another. Needless to say, it looks like he owns the place in the still. The actor can be seen in an intense mood, as he stares at the camera.

You can also see the Don look of John in the photo where he is wearing a grey kurta and white pajama along with black chappals. He is also wearing rings, chains and a tikka. The director is yet to unveil the first looks of the other star cast from the crime drama.

The plot of Mumbai Saga will be set against the backdrop of the 80’s and the 90’s. It will narrate how Bombay turned into Mumbai when mills were closed and were later turned into malls. Apart from John, the upcoming film also stars Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Emraan Hashmi, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy and Amole Gupte. Sharman Joshi, Samir Soni and Pankaj Tripathi will also be seen playing the key roles in the film.

It was in June last year that Sanjay Gupta had announced Mumbai Saga on social media. Sanjay said IANS, “After 25 years and 17 films, I had to give my audience something bigger and better. Mumbai Saga is by far my most ambitious film which needed a visionary producer.” Mumbai Saga is scheduled to release on June 19 2020.
