Mysskin thanks Bala for giving away title for Pisasu 2

On the midnight of September 20, director Mysskin, who was celebrating his birthday that day, had announced that he would be making a sequel to his successul film Pisasu — Pisasu 2 — as his next project, with Andrea Jeremiah playing the lead role. Rajkumar Pitchumani of Psycho fame will also be part of this project, which has Karthik Raja as the composer. The title look and a poster of the film were released along with announcement.

Mysskin had directed the first film, which was released in 2014, and starred newcomer Naga and Mollywood girl Prayaga Martin in the lead roles. That film was produced by director Bala, and was a success at the box office. But this sequel has a new producer – T Muruganantham.

And today, Mysskin has thanked Bala for allowing him to use the title for his sequel. The director tweeted, “I owe a man a debt of gratitude. It’s my Bala, the great artist I love the most @bstudios_offl. I imprint my loving kisses on Bala’s forehead for giving me his title as soon as I told him that I was going to direct Pisasu 2.”

Usually, production houses are reluctant to part with the title to which they hold the rights. So, it is no surprise that Mysskin feels overwhelmed with Bala’s gesture. Interestingly, we are told that this sequel is not a continuation of the earlier film, though there will be references to the first film.

The shoot of Pisasu 2 will commence in November, at Masinagudi.
