Nani teams up with Sai Pallavi and Krithi Shetty for Shyam Singha Roy

After much speculation, it has been confirmed that Rahul Sankrityan’s upcoming film Shyam Singha Roy will see Sai Pallavi and Krithi Shetty as Nani’s co-stars.

Welcoming them on-board Nani wrote on his social media, “అందరికీ విజయ దశమి శుభాకాంక్షలు … Welcoming team #SSR on this very special day. @Sai_Pallavi92 @IamKrithiShetty @Rahul_Sankrityn @MickeyJMeyer @SVR4446 @vboyanapalli @NiharikaEnt.” (sic) The poster he shared on the occasion hints that the film will be set in Kolkata. The pre-look poster of the film that was released during the announcement a few months ago created much intrigue, making many wonder if the film will be a period drama. This will be Rahul’s second film in Telugu after Vijay Deverakonda, Priyanka Jawalkar starrer Taxiwaala and fans have high expectations pinned on it. Venkat Boyanapalli will be bankrolling the film that will be made on a ‘mega-budget’ state makers.

What’s more, the film will see Nani in a never-before-seen avatar, something he pre-look of the film had hinted too. The film’s story is penned by Satyadev Junga and Mickey J Meyer will be composing the music. Shyam Singha Roy will see cinematography by Sanu John Varghese and Naveen Nooli will edit the film.

The filmmakers have announced that shooting for the film will kick-start from December 2020 after Nani wraps up shooting for Shiva Nirvana’s Tuck Jagadish with Ritu Varma and Aishwarya Rajesh. Sai Pallavi, who was last seen in Padi Padi Leche Manasu, will soon be seen in Sekhar Kammula’s Love Story with Naga Chaitanya, shooting for which was resumed after lockdown. Krithi Shetty on the other hand is yet to make her debut in Telugu with debutant Buchi Babu Sana’s Uppena, which will also mark the debut of Sai Dharam Tej’s brother Vaisshnav Tej. The film’s shooting and post-production is wrapped up and release is awaited. Further details of the Shyam Singha Roy’s story are awaited.
