NCB set to summon 7 BIG Bollywood actors and producers in drugs case – Reports

Rakesh Asthana, Chief of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), has reportedly given the agency the green signal to go ahead and summon several big names in the Bollywood film industry in their ongoing drug probe.

The NCB Chief, flew down to Mumbai city on Sunday for a series of meetings with the bureau’s officers. After getting briefed on the ongoing case and taking a stock of the situation, he reportedly gave the team permission to proceed with their investigation and summon anyone necessary.

According to a report on CNNnews18, seven big film stars and even some top Bollywood producers are likely to be summoned for interrogation. The names of these top stars reportedly came up during the interrogation of several drug peddlers who were taken into custody over the past weeks.

If the team finds substantial “evidence” to link the stars to the case, they will “most likely” be called in for questioning, the report stated.

The NCB questioned Deepika Padukone, her manager Karishma Prakash, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh for questioning over the weekend. The agency also grilled fashion designer Simone Khambatta and Anubhav Chopra and took former Dharma Productions executive producer Kshitij Prasad into custody for his alleged involvement in drug-related activity, a charge he has denied.

Reports doing the rounds claim that the NCB may call the four actresses for questioning again, after their first round of questioning was deemed ‘unsatisfactory’. The agency also seized the mobile phones of the actresses for further examination.

The NCB has custody of Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda, personal staff Dipesh Sawant and some other drug peddlers.
