Chandan Roy Sanyal had recently visited his co-star Irrfan Khan’s tomb in Mumbai and shared pictures of the late actor resting in peace. Several netizens had expressed shock at the condition of the legendary actor’s grave and stated that it should be tended to. “Seeing him unnoticed is hurting,” commented one Twitter user, while another netizen expressed grief and shared, “It is heart-breaking to see his grave just like a normal one… he was not only a person but a gem… please someone take care of his grave.”
Speaking to ETimes, Chandan assured fans of Irrfan Khan that the late artist was resting in peace, “People were touched by the gesture but I did not do it for social media. His tomb is not fancy but has a vibration of its own. It is sort of nicely merging with nature, just like the actor himself. It has some magical power.”
Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29 after battling cancer for nearly two years. “Surrounded by his love, his family for whom he most cared about, he left for heavenly abode, leaving behind truly a legacy of his own,” the late actor’s spokesperson had shared in a statement then. ‘Angrezi Medium’ was Irrfan Khan’s last act, before the curtains came down.
