Operation Khukri

Operation Khukri is a Hindi War Film produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s home production Red Chillies Entertainment. The film is based on Indian Army and Indian Air Force’s rescue operation ‘Operation Khukri’ in Africa. Operation Khukri was launched back in 2000 in a tropical forest in Sierra Leone which is situated in West Africa. Shah Rukh Khan will play a role of a fauji in the movie. Operation Khukri was a multinational operation launched in the United Nations Assistance Mission in Sierra Leone, involving India, Ghana, Britain and Nigeria.

 It was a mission to rescue around 223 peacekeepers of India who were sent to Sierra Leone by United Nations to help the government there in tackling Revolutionary United Front (RUF), a rebel group. Major (now Lt Col) Harinder Sood led the operation and around 120 IAF officers were flown from Indian to Africa for the same

The star cast of Shah Rukh’s production have not been disclosed yet. There is no word on whether he will play the lead though he has effectively played a soldier in Farah Khan’s 2004 film Main Hoon Na and the television show Fauji. In 2012, SRK played a soldier role in Jab Tak Hai Jaan movie and fans was liked that too much. Now again we might have the chance to see him in the Fauji avatar. According to the latest news, this is a big-budget, multi-cast project and currently in the writing stage.
